dc.description.abstractThis research work aimed to investigate the “Real-time volumetric measurement of grinding media of semi-autogenous (SAG) mill” by using an online-based model. Oyu Tolgoi (OT) mine copper concentrator is located in South Gobi province, south part of Mongolia. SAG mills are often taken as the object of optimization studies because they are a type of equipment that consumes large amounts of energy. Its size reduction stage includes one primary crusher which feeds two SAG mills (11.58m diameter x 7m length) with the following three ball mills (7.32m diameter x 11.32m length). After sag mill, comminuted products pass through a trommel screen in which over and undersize materials its oversize part is circulated into SAG mill and undersize part is conveyed to hydro-cyclone to further process.
