Ulaanbaatar has the highest population density in Mongolia. Consequently, for the past few decades, the massive movement of people to the city led to unplanned urbanization. Today, Ulaanbaatar is facing environmental problems in all seasons of the year. To resolve these issues, some measures have begun such as the “Green City Action Plan for the City of Ulaanbaatar”, and “Green building guidelines”, not to mention “A Billion Tree National Campaign”.
