    In response to the move in Europe towards a more sustainable, reliable, and costefficient society, European energy policy has set ambitious goals for the European electricity system, fixing the objective of at least 80% decarbonization by 2050. Distribution networks represent 95% of the electricity grids in Europe. They are therefore a precondition for the retail markets (and also for wholesale) and for the sustainable development of cities and communities, new jobs, and growth.
